PAWS Chicago has retained GattiHR for their Vice President, Operations search, located in Chicago, IL. J.L. Baker and Jessica Bukovac will lead this search.
PAWS Chicago, the largest no-kill animal shelter in the Midwest, is dedicated to building No Kill communities–starting with a No Kill Chicago– where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since its founding in 1997, the number of homeless dogs and cats killed annually in Chicago has dropped by 91 percent. But with nearly 10,000 homeless pets still dying in the city each year, there is more important work to be done. PAWS performs more than 15,000 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries per year to decrease the number of animals that end up in shelters and are in danger of being euthanized. PAWS also finds new loving families for nearly 6,000 homeless animals each year through our two adoption centers as well as numerous off-site events.
The Vice President of Operations (VP) is a PAWS Chicago senior leader with demonstrated management, leadership, and robust “hands-on” operations experience, managing multiple departments with an ability to see the big picture and delve deep into operating details. Familiarity with medical facilities, animals, and/or animal welfare preferred. Commitment to the No Kill animal shelter philosophy is essential.
Principally, the VP is responsible for leadership, management and oversight of PAWS Chicago’s Intake, Foster Care, Facilities Management and Animal Care teams. While responsibilities for Foster, Facilities Management and Animal Care, span both the Adoption and Medical Centers, significant focus will be on the Medical Center.
