BOSTON, Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Gatti & Associates and Human Resource Leadership Forum (HRLF) are pleased to announce the recipient of the first annual Bob Gatti HR Leadership Excellence Award. This award recognizes outstanding HR Leaders in New England, showcases exemplary HR work and profiles individuals who are role models for all HR practitioners. The recipient of this year’s award is Russ Campanello, EVP of HR and Corporate Communications at iRobot. Jill Larsen, SVP of HR & Talent at Cisco Systems, and Cynthia Ring, CHRO at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, received Awards of Distinction.
Gatti & Associates, the largest HR-only executive search firm in the United States, partnered with Human Resource Leadership Forum (HRLF), the leading community for connection and learning for senior level HR leaders in New England, on this award. “We’re delighted to bring public recognition to great HR leadership and honor Bob Gatti’scontributions. Russ is the perfect choice for this award.” said Alice Benson, President and CEO of Gatti & Associates. Stephanie Franklin, President of HRLF, commented, “We wanted to recognize extraordinary accomplishments in HR. Through our nomination process, we were impressed by the quality of these individuals represented who are doing outstanding work in our profession.”
As an HR leader in Boston-area companies like Bank of Boston, Digital Equipment Corporation and Motorola, the late Bob Gatti saw an unmet need to find and develop HR talent and founded Gatti & Associates to fill critical talent gaps. Bob was a founding member of HRLF, and the New England HR Association (NEHRA), and he was the founder of the Senior Human Resource Network (SHRN). Throughout his career, he helped elevate HR and its importance to organizations, and this award embodies his legacy to the profession.
This year’s recipient, Russ Campanello, has served as iRobot’s EVP of HR and Corporate Communications since February 2014 and has been with the organization since 2010. Russ has been at the helm of the HR function for the last seven years at iRobot during the company’s successful transition from a diversified robotics company into a focused consumer brand. At iRobot, Russ brought a breadth of multi-industry experiences in diverse environments. He has the reputation of being a “world-class” HR executive and has managed change in high growth environments, in mergers and acquisitions, and in cash-strained companies. The richness of his professional background and personal values are a perfect match for iRobot. He is an inspiration to many iRoboteers and exemplifies each criterion of this nomination.
“Bob was a giant in the New England HR community who championed the strategic impact HR can have on driving organizational success and transformation,” said Russ Campanello. “I am humbled to be nominated by my peers and recognized for this prestigious award, as an HR leader who shares Bob’s vision for HR and strives to help companies grow through building extraordinary cultures that attract talented workforces.”
